Yes, ARM & HAMMER Powder Laundry Detergent with Color-Safe Bleach are safe for all colorfast items. We use a color-safe oxygenated bleaching system, rather than a traditional chlorinated bleaching system. Oxygen bleach is safe to use on most colors and fabrics. It is milder than chlorine bleach. For best results, we recommend that you check your garment care label for complete laundering instructions. If a care label says, “No Bleach,” then we recommend that none of our detergents with bleach be used on the garment. Instead, you can use our regular ARM & HAMMER® Powder Laundry Detergent.

• Why do ARM & HAMMER Powder Laundry Detergent with Color-Safe Bleach Products offer fewer loads per box than the Scented and Free formulas?

ARM & HAMMER Powder Laundry Detergent with Color-Safe Bleach has significantly higher levels of oxygen bleach, which takes up room in the box. This, along with a slightly higher usage level, provides slightly fewer wash loads per package.

Our scoops are made from 100% post-consumer recycled material and both the scoops and handles are recyclable. Check with your local recycling center for specific directions in your area.

Is ARM & HAMMER Powder Laundry Detergent biodegradable? Is it safe for the septic systems?

ARM & HAMMER Powder Laundry Detergent contains biodegradable cleaning agents that completely dissolve in all water temperatures. Additionally, ARM & HAMMER Powder Laundry Detergent contains naturally occurring mineral salts which are compatible with waste treatment systems and are environmentally sensible.

How much detergent do I use if I have no scoop?

We suggest that you begin with one ½ cup for a medium load. Use 1 cup for a large or heavily soiled load.

Can this be used in a HE washing machine?

Although ARM & HAMMER/Powder/Laundry Detergent has not been designed for use in front loading, high efficiency washing machines, ARM & HAMMER Liquid Laundry Detergent can be used, just at lower levels. We suggest that you use one quarter to one half of the amount of liquid on the product label instructions.

Can you still use a liquid fabric softener and/or a dryer sheet even when using ARM & HAMMER?

Yes, if you are looking for additional softening, you can use liquid fabric softener as directed on the package during the rinse cycle and/or a dryer sheet when using ARM & HAMMER Plus a Touch of Softener. For additional softening, try ARM & HAMMER Fresh ’n Soft Dryer Sheets.

Will ARM & HAMMER Detergent Plus a Touch of Softener stain clothes?

No, ARM & Hammer Plus a Touch of Softener will not stain clothes. The product uses color-safe dyes that have been tested extensively to verify "no staining".

ARM & HAMMER Detergent Plus a Touch of Softener does contain baking soda, similar to ARM & HAMMER regular detergent. The baking soda provides the benefit of eliminating odors, not just covering them up.
